It’s an in-person matchmaking service with offices around the US. You meet a matchmaker, do a long interview, and they set up introductions. You give feedback after each one.
The table puts the company’s claims about itself next to what outside sites show. Every line has a source and a date.

What do The Matchmaking Company reviews say?
They split hard. On Trustpilot, 60% of reviews are five stars and 29% are one star. Only 11% land in between (Trustpilot, checked Oct 15, 2026). Trustpilot also says the company “hasn’t invited customers recently,” so the reviews “may not be representative.”
Happy reviewers describe kind, attentive matchmakers. One five-star reviewer in July 2026 said they were on a fourth date with their match.
Unhappy reviewers describe big up-front payments and trouble getting money back. Several one-star reviews from September 2026 describe paying thousands of dollars. One reviewer says they paid $6,000 up front. Others mention refund requests or card disputes.
Reddit shows the same split in fewer words. A 74-year-old woman in r/Reno said she joined a couple of years ago, found it “extremely expensive” and went out with three people (thread, Sept 2026). In r/datingoverfifty, a new member asked for reviews right after signing up, and the replies urged them to read the terms. One person said they now pass on anyone who sets “an arbitrary short deadline to sign” (thread, Oct 2026).
BBB’s numbers are mixed too. It gives the company an A- rating and accreditation, and it lists 127 complaints in three years (BBB). For a company with this many offices, the count alone doesn’t tell you much. Read a few complaints and look for the same problem showing up again and again.
How much does The Matchmaking Company cost per month?
Nobody outside the company can tell you, because it doesn’t publish prices. Its FAQ says pricing “will be discussed with you during your consultation” (FAQ, checked Oct 15, 2026).
So do the math yourself before you say yes. Ask for three numbers: total price, contract length and guaranteed introductions. Then use the calculator.

Is The Matchmaking Company worth it?
It might be, if three things are true: you want to meet people near you, you’d rather sit across from a matchmaker than swipe, and the pool has enough people your age.
That last one is where people get hurt. Ask how many members in your age range live within your distance, and get an actual number, because “plenty” doesn’t tell you anything.
