Who are the professional matchmakers in Atlanta?

These are the professional matchmaker Atlanta options I checked, with a price wherever I could find a source for one. Atlanta has two local firms I could verify, one national date-setting service with an Atlanta page, and a handful of national matchmakers that say they work here. I confirmed each on its own website on October 15, 2026, and added The Broom List on October 20. Any price below is the firm’s own or from a report I link. Atlanta Matchmakers is the long-running local one. Twin sisters Lisa Lyngos and Leisha Murphy run it from an office on Hammond Drive, and the site says it was established in 1998. It posts no prices, and neither does It’s Just Lunch, which has an Atlanta page and says its matchmakers set up dates near you. The Broom List, which WABE calls Atlanta-based, matches Black professionals in six metros and has a free database. If that’s what you’re after, professional black matchmaker covers more firms. Master Matchmakers posts the most detailed prices of the group, and you’ll find them in the chart below. LUMA, Agape Match and Select Date Society are national firms that say they serve Atlanta, but none of them is based here.

If you’re new to how this works, start with matchmaking services near me. That page separates hiring a matchmaker from sitting in someone’s database.

Professional matchmaker Atlanta cost: what will you pay?

Here are the Atlanta prices I could tie to a source, all on one scale. That way you can compare before you talk to anyone, including me.

Atlanta prices with a public source, checked Oct 15 and 20, 2026 Each step on the scale is 10 times the last, so small and large prices both fit.
  1. Master Matchmakers, Private Registry (one time) (published on its website) · checked Oct 15, 2026
  2. The Broom List, 90-minute video session (published on its website) · checked Oct 20, 2026
  3. Master Matchmakers, Premium Matchmaking (published on its website) · checked Oct 15, 2026
  4. Agape Match, full search (2025 report) · checked Oct 15, 2026
  5. LUMA, full-service matchmaking (published on its website) · checked Oct 15, 2026

The bars leave out a few details. Master Matchmakers raises its Premium fee with how strict your criteria are and how much coaching you get. Its pricing page · checked Oct 15, 2026 is national, and the Atlanta page says you’ll discuss price at the first consultation. The $450 registry fee is non-refundable.

Agape Match’s range is what its founder said on Freakonomics, Sept 28, 2025 · checked Oct 15, 2026, so ask for the number in writing before you count on it. Select Date Society prices its Founders Club at $1 million on its Atlanta page · checked Oct 15, 2026. I left it off the chart, since a bar that size would squash the rest.

Neither Atlanta-based firm posts a membership price. The Broom List posts one number, $500 for a 90-minute private video session with its matchmaker, credited in full if you join its matchmaking within 90 days The Broom List · checked Oct 20, 2026. Atlanta Matchmakers posts none. So the local firms tell you the membership price on the phone, and the national firms start in the thousands. National prices are in professional matchmaker cost.

How does matchmaking in Atlanta work?

Most Atlanta firms follow the same basic order, even when they give the steps their own names. This is the usual path from the first call to the second match.

  1. Consultation, free or paid
  2. Contract and payment
  3. Interview and screening
  4. Search and first introduction
  5. The date
  6. Feedback from both of you
  7. Next match, or a hold

The details are where the firms differ. Here is what three of the firms in my table say about it:

  • Master Matchmakers lists seven steps on its Atlanta page, starting with a phone or video consultation. It says every client’s ID, age and photos are verified, and every match gets a public-record background check before any introduction. Master Matchmakers, Atlanta page · checked Oct 20, 2026
  • LUMA’s Atlanta page says its matchmakers do an average of 50 in-depth interviews per client to pick your matches. LUMA, Atlanta page · checked Oct 20, 2026
  • The Broom List’s vetting, as WABE described it, runs from an application and in-depth interviews to home tours and reference checks. WABE, Feb 13, 2025 · checked Oct 20, 2026

Two of these firms quote a success rate. LUMA’s Atlanta page claims 89%, and WABE reported 86% for The Broom List, a figure that comes from the firm. Neither says how it counts a success, so ask. Ask who will see your profile and photos, and when, too. For the whole process, read what to expect from a matchmaker.

How long does it take to find a match in Atlanta?

No firm can promise you a date for that. What a firm can tell you is how long your contract runs and whether you can pause it. LUMA says members get a 6-month search and can put a membership on hold for any reason LUMA cost page · checked Oct 20, 2026. Master Matchmakers lists unlimited hold time for Premium clients Master Matchmakers pricing · checked Oct 20, 2026, and The Broom List says a search unfolds over months The Broom List · checked Oct 20, 2026.

Plan on six months at the least, and ask how many introductions fit inside that time. Then put the quote into this calculator and see what each one costs you.

What are Atlanta matchmakers seeing?

On Feb 13, 2025, WABE · checked Oct 20, 2026, Atlanta’s NPR station, talked to Tennesha Wood, the Atlanta matchmaker who owns The Broom List.

  • WABE opened with a WalletHub report that ranked Atlanta the best city for singles in 2025, and asked whether the apps are working.
  • Wood started The Broom List in 2020, after her own dating life, to bring successful Black professionals who want a lifetime partner into one place.
  • She said she wants the highest quality people for her clients, and WABE described a vetting process with home tours and reference checks.

I didn’t see home tours on any other firm’s site I read for this page. When a firm tells you it screens people, ask what that means, step by step, the way WABE spelled it out here.

Two references from past clients, ideally women near your age, are worth more than any review I could quote. Ask them whether they’d pay again.

Dating coach Atlanta: coach or matchmaker?

If first dates keep going nowhere, a coach can help you date better. If you have no time to meet anyone, a matchmaker does the finding for you.

What you pay for Someone else finds and screens your dates Help with your profile, your choices and your dates
Atlanta prices I found $450 registry; $3,500 to $35,000 at one firm; national firms from $20,000 No Atlanta coach I checked posts a price

Coaching comes bundled into Master Matchmakers’ Premium price. If you only want coaching, ask for it on its own, or work with an online coach. That’s what I do. For the full comparison, see matchmaker vs dating coach. Dating coach cost covers typical prices. Before any free call, mine included, print the questions to ask a dating coach.

Can I work with a dating coach in Atlanta online?

Yes. I coach online, so it doesn’t matter if you live in Midtown or Marietta. Here’s how it works:

  1. You fill in the short form at the top of this page. It comes to me.
  2. I email you to set up a free online consultation.
  3. We talk about what’s going on and what you’ve already tried.
  4. If you want to keep working together, I tell you my price and what it includes before you pay anything. Saying no is fine.

If you still want a matchmaker after we talk, that’s fine. You’ll go into those sales calls knowing what to ask.

Which Atlanta dating coaches work with women?

In the Google results for “dating coach Atlanta” I pulled on Oct 20, 2026, two of the coach pages near the top said they work with men. The Broom List, in my table, offers dating coaching with or without matchmaking, though it posts no coaching price The Broom List · checked Oct 20, 2026. Whoever you call, me included, ask how many of their clients are women your age and what they help those women change.

What are the contract rules in Georgia?

I couldn’t verify a Georgia law specific to dating services. I did confirm a broader one. Georgia’s Fair Business Practices Act bans unfair and deceptive practices in consumer sales of goods and services, and the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division enforces it. Georgia Consumer Protection Division · checked Oct 15, 2026

It’s a general rule against being misled, with no cancel window, so protect yourself up front:

  • Before paying, get a copy of the contract by email and go through it at home.
  • Circle where it covers canceling, refunds, holds and the end date.
  • When a firm doesn’t do what its contract says, the Georgia Consumer Protection Division is where to complain.

A federal rule might give you a cancel window. The FTC Cooling-Off Rule gives you until midnight of the third business day to cancel some sales made at home ($25 or more) or at a seller’s temporary location such as a hotel room or restaurant ($130 or more). It includes services. It leaves out deals made fully online, by phone or at the seller’s own office. Cancel in time, and the seller has 10 days to give your money back. FTC Cooling-Off Rule · checked Oct 15, 2026

States with a real cancel window are covered in dating service contract cancellation rights. Have the matchmaker contract checklist printed before any sales call.

What should you ask an Atlanta matchmaker before you sign?

Keep this open on your phone during the sales call. Get answers before the pitch turns to money. Pressure to sign today is a reason to say no.
